Mrs. Paul Metevier was called to eternal peace at 2:55 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012. She was born August 24, 1925. Emma had returned to Michigan from San Diego, CA in 2006 to be with her sons Tom and Paul Metevier Jr. who reside in Lansing. Tom is the owner of Wag’n Tails Pet Resort in Lansing. It was in 1948 following the birth of Paul Jr. that Emma and Paul Sr. left their home and family in Saginaw to live the California dream in San Diego, where her husband Paul had gone through the U.S. Marines boot camp prior to the 2nd world war. Her second son Tom was born in 1950. During her 58 years in San Diego, Emma was a devoted working mother and loving wife who also made time to be an active member of the Young Ladies Institute, a catholic women’s association akin to the Knights of Columbus. One of her favorite activities was playing cards with and hosting the Canasta Club in which she was active for many years. In her later years and after retirement, Emma stayed active as a volunteer at St Patrick’s in North Park where she was also a member of the Arch Confraternity.

Emma’s death was preceded by her best friend and husband Paul Sr. in 1995, her father Charles Binassio, mother Grandma B, brother Phil Binassio, sisters Sarah Santino and Anna Illikman. Survivors include her two sons Tom and Paul Jr. brother Joe Binassio, sisters Katherine Santino, Angeline Brissette and Grace Thompson along with numerous nephews and nieces.
