Age 72, of Lansing, went to be with the Lord on July 27, 2012, after a lengthy illness. He was born August 23, 1939, in Zaha Olympia, Greece, the son of Peter and Vivian Drakey.

Gregory was a kind and generous man with a great sense of humor. Those lucky to have known him, loved him.

He is survived by his children, Helen (Craig Baldwin) Lombardo and Peter Drakey; brother, Tony (Mereta) Drakey; and many, many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Spiro Drakey.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.

Death is not the end. Christ said “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” Death is the separation of our souls from our bodies and Christ has opened the way for all mankind to be resurrected.Death is not the end.
