Age 88, of Lansing, passed away January 13, 2012. She was born September 7, 1923, in Detroit, to Donald and Florence (Baker) Dearing.
Ann graduated from MSU with a BS degree in Home Economics. Her memberships included: Sparrow Hospital Auxiliary where she proudly received her 45-year pin for volunteer services last spring, Central United Methodist Church where she volunteered and served on numerous committees, and the Country Club of Lansing where she enjoyed golf and a good game of Bridge. In addition, she was active with fundraising for WKAR and several other organizations. Ann was always sports minded, loving the Spartans and the Tigers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, in 1998. Surviving are: son, Donald Snyder and friend Anita Wingfield of Mesa, AZ; daughters, Mary Lucinda “Cindy” (Allen) Bush of Traverse City, Ann C. Snyder of Milwaukee and Judy (Patrick) Kish of Grand Ledge; 4 grandchildren, Tom (Amy) Bush, Charlie (Aimeé) Bush, Kerri (Scott) Szalony and Rebecca (Jack) Koenigsknecht; 12 great-grandchildren, Katie, Nathan, Allison, Jackson, Michael, Addison, Nicholas, Brady, Carson, Amanda, Ella and Parker; and niece, Kathlyn Maguire.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2012, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with the Rev. Ronald Brooks of Central United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Sparrow Hospital Auxiliary, Central United Methodist Church, or the charity of one’s choice, in memory of Ann Snyder.
