Melvin served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Lansing Masonic Lodge #33 F.&A.M. and American Legion Mount Moriah Post #460. He retired after 32 years of dedicated service as a truck driver for Anchor Motor Freight and enjoyed Tuesday morning breakfasts with his truck driving friends. Melvin had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger. He was an avid Tigers fan, loved to watch old Westerns, and enjoyed reading John Grisham novels.
He is survived by his 4 children, Wanda Kramer, Danny (Denise) Kramer, Ricky Kramer and Lisa Fay; 6 grandchildren, Ashley Kramer, Brittni Kramer, Samantha Kramer, Kaitlyn Fay, Tyler Kramer and Connor Fay; sister, Janice Kauffmann; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Kramer; sister, Stella Ternes; and brother, Delmar Kramer.
A celebration of Melvin’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Online condolences may be left for his family at www.EstesLeadley.com
