He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a gunner’s mate during both WWII and the Korean War. He went on to work as a tradesman for General Motors and retired after 46 years of dedicated service.
Max is survived by his caregivers, niece Mary Jane (Bill) Gutel and great-nephew Doug (Holly) Wood and also several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons and siblings.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Deepdale Memorial Gardens in Lansing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice.
