Lake City, Michigan

William “Bill” Swagler, originally from Lansing, born to John and Marcella Swagler, left us suddenly on February 6, 2015. Bill proudly served in the military and was a Vietnam veteran.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather “Boppi Do.” His love of golfing with the mountain men, up at the lake or in Florida, riding his Harley and his passion for his corvette will never be forgotten.

He is now soaring high with his parents, John and Dolly; late wife, Carole Swagler; father-in-law, Frank Jurincic; and sister-in-law, Sarah Swagler. Surviving are his wife, Judi “Gracie” Swagler; daughters, Lesa (Josh) Leverett, Amanda (Kyle) Hagerman, Amy (Kevin) Lane and Carrie (Chris) Pearson; grandkids, Marena, Carley, Brookelyn, Aubree, Ayden, Avery, Mackinley and Jeffrey; great-granddaughter, Adreanna; brothers, Arthur Swagler and William (Sue) Nees; mother-in-law, Janet Jurincic; and many more family and dear friends.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Bill Lugger at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at St. Casimir Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Freedom’s Finest Outdoors.
