Wayne A. Williams, Jr.

Wayne passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 22, 2011 at age 64. He was born March 22, 1947 in Lansing, the son of Wayne, Sr. and Bea Williams. He was currently of Dimondale.

Wayne served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam and retired as President of Williams Plumbing and Heating. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, his friendships of many years, and his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dennis Williams. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ruth; daughters, Amanda (Harold) Pugh of Lansing and Shelley (Matthew) Mannino of Grand Ledge; granddaughters, Madeleine, Natalie, Lillian and Annabella; sister, Elaine McDonald of Lansing; sister-in-law, Judy Williams of Coral Springs, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. A memorial visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Ingham Regional Healthcare Foundation in support of cardiac care.

Wayne was a wonderful childhood friend and he provided me with many fond memories. The people he leaves behind were blessed to have him in their lives. Let’s remember his smile, great humor and the fine memories that he leaves us. Special Ruth and their children are in my thoughts.
