Violet E. Davis

Violet E. DavisAge 94, passed away February 28, 2013.  She was born November 25, 1918, in Lansing.  Violet was a lifelong member of Pennway Church of God.  She worked at Oldsmobile until 1946, and had also worked at Yankee’s where she managed the snack bar.  Violet enjoyed doing ceramics, sewing, crocheting and traveling.

Surviving are:  son, David “Randy” Davis of League, TX and daughter, Dawn (Thomas Mask) Davis of Lansing; 3 grandchildren, Joel, Tobiann and Teri; and great grandchild, Xenia; and adopted daughter, Mary Jo (Darryl) Taylor of Lansing.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Davis; brother, Harold Farnam; daughter-in-law, Brenda Davis.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Pennway Church of God, 1101 East Cavanaugh Rd., Lansing.  The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.  Memorial contributions may be made to Pennway Church of God in memory of Violet Davis.

Dawn, our hearts are truly with you at this time. There are no words to say that can comfort you. So try to dig deep and find the memories of fun and laughter. WE LOVE YOU.

Condolences to the Davis family. Please be assured of God’s promise that one day we will see our loved ones again happy and healthy, John 5:28, 29 says, “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” I pray this promise along with loving memories of Violet fill your heart with comfort and peace
