Trent L. Hendricks

Age 47, of Lansing, died Monday, August 16, 2010. Trent was born June 26, 1963, in Williamston, MI, the son of Thomas J. and Jerrie Hendricks. He was preceded in death by his mother, LuLu with whom he has now joined.

Trent was a graduate of Williamston H.S., Class of 1981. He was a member of their basketball, track and baseball teams. Thanks to being mentored by his brother Tom, Trent excelled as a pitcher. Growing up, Trent enjoyed motorcycling with his brother Tim, around town and up North, with Mom and Dad. In later years he enjoyed wrenching on and modifying his Jeep and El Camino. He also enjoyed firearms and put his Thompson-Center to good use by harvesting a beautiful buck in Gladwin County with Dad, who put him on a “hot run”. It was a most memorable time for both Dad and Trent. Trent loved his family time with his many nieces, nephews and cousins scattered around Michigan.

Trent loved his fiancée Sharon Jubb and her wonderful family. His love for people extended to his job as a meat cutter for Felpausch, where he worked for over a decade. He later mastered the crafts of welding, plasma cutting, woodworking and masonry at various businesses around town. He was self-taught at many things and was never afraid to learn or get his hands dirty. In true Hendricks form, he always gave 100%. There are many loving people who contributed to his growth at Trinity Church where he was baptized, attended and worked. His recent start at Peckham, Inc. gave him renewed hope.

Survivors include his daughter, Kayla; father and stepmother, Thomas (Diane) Hendricks; brothers, Tom (Patricia), Todd (Bonnie), Tim (Deb); sister, Terrie (Thomas) Boggus; uncles, David (Natalie) Lucas and Robert York; aunt, Marceline (Arthur) Nelson; stepfather, William Turner and many stepbrothers and sisters; nieces, Leah, Jessica, and Kaylynn; and nephews, David, Anthony, and Michael.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2010 at Trinity Church, 3355 Dunckel Road, Lansing, MI 48911, with Pastor Royce Allen officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Church Deacon Assistant Fund. Arrangements by Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
