Thomas N. Atanasoff

Holt, Michigan.

Age 77, passed away on June 4, 2016.  Born January 16, 1939, in Jackson Michigan, he attended school in Lansing and graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1957. Tom retired from the Michigan Education Association in 1995.

He enjoyed snowmobiling and fly-fishing on the Au Sable and Manistee rivers.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Pena Atanasoff and his brother John Atanasoff.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharon; his daughters, Marcia (Bruce) Holliday and Dawn (Doug) Oberstar; and 4 grandchildren, Bradley and Matthew Holliday and Sarah and Trevor Oberstar.

The family wishes to thank Tom’s friend and fishing buddy Dick Williams, the staff at New Haven Foster Care and Hometown Hospice for the wonderful care and support he received.

Visitation will be on 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday June 7, 2016, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.  A private service will be held in northern Michigan.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Haven Foster Care and Hometown Hospice.

I could not have asked for a better Uncle. I always admired his sense of humor. He will be missed.
