Ray and me attended st Gerard’s grade school with Tom .We and all that attended St Gerard’s will always be part of a special family from that school. Interesting that his memorial Mass is at a St Gerard’s,church not in Detroit but in Lansing. Tom was a fiery person and his coloring showed it, his excitement would produce bright red in his cheeks .He had an wonderful personality and a laugh and smile that made you smile back. I recall that to be a hard thing when the nuns were watching and wanting our best behavior, back in the school days. Ray and I are deeply touched at this news. we will hold his memory close with love in our hearts until we meet again

With a heavy heart and tears I write….I’ve known Tom and all the “Crew” gang for over 40 years and can honestly say Tommy (as the girls called him) was the most charming, nice, generous, funny, caring, did I mention funny, man I had the pleasure of calling my friend. Albeit, Lansing has been his home for many years, he always came to all the Detroit area get-togethers with old friends, as our bond is strong. The neighborhood and friendships we all grew up with… is a gift not everyone has the honor of bestowing. I’m feeling blessed to have last seen Tom & Susan in Traverse City June 22 for a wonderful Wine Fest and Rodriquez concert…it was a special day! Many Happy Cherished Memories in my heart forever…. Prayers & Hugs to Susan and your beautiful family XoXo

So sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. He would always stop and talk when riding his bike in the subdivision. What a nice man, he will be missed.

My Heart Aches at the loss of a man I consider to be a Brother Fighter Fighters but also one of my Best Friends. Tom’s sense of humor and wit defined his personality. His lust for life made for many good times. Tom was instrumental in organizing Tiger Baseball trips, Deer Hunting trips Glen Lake trips, and how about the first Firefighter pinic at Delta Mills Park, which included a Dunk Tank, Tom even drove to Detroit to get the Perfect Coney Dog Sauce for the Firefighters Hot Dog stand at Riverfest. Tom Loved his family above all else, He also Loved being a Fire Fighter. I remember Tom telling me that he applied at every Fire Department from Detroit to Lansing. Finally Lansing called his name. How fortunate for us. Being a new kid is not always easy but he gave as good as he got. Coming up through the ranks Tom could always relate to younger firefighters, this made him an excellent Lieutenant, Captain and Instructor. Our thoughts and Prayers are with Susan, Tommy, and Jared. We will miss Tom terribly

We’ve known your family for over 20 years. Where has the time gone. From our kids in grade school through spots. Sitting in the stands together and cheering on our kids. And, of course, you can’t forget all the years of taking the kids around for Halloween. Candy for the kids and of course “beverages” for the adults. Susan, Tommy, Jared I’m so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you always.
