Thelma M. Wilkins

Age 98, of Lansing, passed away July 31, 2012. She was born July 15, 1914, in Howell County, MO, daughter of the late George and Anna Mae Huddleston.

Thelma wore many hats. She sold furniture, was a beautician, and was most proud of working with her husband, Alfred, in his shop “Al’s Electric Motor Works.” She also loved gardening. She was a member of the Lansing First Church of the Nazarene for 70 years and was active with their Ladies’ Missionary Society.

She is survived by her sons, Donald (Marion) Wilkins of Vicksburg and Richard (Nancy) Wilkins of Lansing; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Dorothy Hotchkiss and Maxine Wolman; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Wilkins and their infant son Jerry Wilkins.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lansing First Church of the Nazarene Missionary Society.

I Loved Aunt Thelma,As a kid I really enjoyed being at her house.I recall the many times her family came to Ohio for visits at grandpa’s house.She was a great wittness for God. Lee Lee
