Sharon Kay Mejia

Age 68, of Lansing, passed away November 1, 2012.  She was born in Detroit on April 28, 1944, to Harry and Barbara (Butler) Davis. She was a 1962 graduate of Eastern High School.

Surviving are:  her husband of 50 years, Oscar; daughters, Linda (John) Bierwagen, Joan (Scott) Phillips; sons, Oscar (Nora) Mejia, Jerry Mejia and Gary (Kelene) Mejia; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and sister, Glenna (Phil) Morris.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Lavern Davis.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2012, at the St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 102 W. Randolph, Lansing, with Fr. John Fain as celebrant.  Burial will take place immediately following the service at Evergreen Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel on Sunday, November 4th from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners International in memory of Sharon Mejia.

I am very sad for your loss. She was one of the most beautiful people I have ever known, always generous, tender, sweet and strong at the same time, I will certainly really miss her. All my prayers and love is with all the family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Mejia family. We didn’t know Sharon very well, but Kelly always talked so highly of Sharon it is as if we knew her better. May you find comfort in each other in the days ahead.
