My prayers are with your family Ryan. You left this world too soon. I still want to think that you will join me for a cup of coffee and teach me french as we planned to do but so much happened that we never got the chance. I will miss our late night conversations and seeing your posts on Facebook. You were the kindest person I had ever met. I hope your soul is at peace and that you know that so many people loved you. I will always remember you my friend.

I remember when we met fresh off your mission. We were stuck on this awkward YSA yacht-ride. We literally just made fun of guys trying too hard to pick up chicks && way people were dancing. Ever since then we became the best of friends. I’m going to miss your hilarious facebook posts and those 2 am phone calls back and fourth. Or the hilarious skype calls with Dustin and Kasey. The world lost a good person too soon. I hope before you make it to heaven you get to ghost stalk Zac Effron and that you get to make a trip to Metro. I was totally looking forward to the day you were going to move to Salt Lake. I feel like you had so much life to live but now, well now your in a better place living the dream. See you in a few years buddy! Be sure to keep God entertained! 🙂 Love you and miss you bro.

Mr. and Mrs. Hansen and family, I’m so sorry to hear about Ryan’s passing. I was in shock and disbelief. I hadn’t been in touch with him for about a year, but he was an awesome friend to have, always ready to talk and have a good laugh! We agreed on most things, but we also disagreed on several things, and enjoyed getting into casual debates, which sometimes got crazier and more heated than they needed to because we were both outspoken people, but I liked that about Ryan, he would always give me his honest opinion about things, whether I agreed with him or not, and he respected my opinion when it differed from his. We had lots of good times talking, laughing, and debating issues for hours. He also often had great advice for me and always had a way of making my problems in life I’d discuss with him seem not nearly as bad I would tend to, at first, make them out to be, which I very much appreciated. Ryan helped me change my outlook, for the better, on several aspects of my life, and society in general. I hope he is finding peace now, and please know that you and the rest of his family and those close to him have been in my thoughts constantly since I heard of his passing.

My deepest sympathies,
Dustin Wiese, Carroll, Iowa

I am so sorry for your loss. Ryan’s smile could light up a room and he was always sincere and honest. He truly cared about others. May you find comfort in the Lord Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice which makes it possible for all of us to be resurrected and live again on the other side of the veil. You will see him again one day. He is smiling and being a light to those around him right now!

Ryan was a good friend to my daughter Kellie especially in her darkest hour during a difficult illness. He had a smile that could brighten any day and when I lived in Lansing in 2000-2004 and he would come to my home to visit with Kellie and other friends I enjoyed his smiling face and happy demeanor.
Ryan, you will be missed on this earth more than you know but especially by Kellie who loved you dearly! I am sorry I was not living in Lansing to help you through difficult times! Rest in peace dear! To Ryan’s family, I am so sorry for the grief and heartache you are going through. Ryan truly had a spirit of love in his heart. He will be missed in this world and you raised a remarkable young man!
