Roy N. Barker
Age 89, of Midland, formerly of Lansing, passed away January 31, 2012. He was born January 19, 1923, in Lansing, the son of the late Willie and Dora Barker.
Roy grew up in Bath, MI and retired from General Motors. He had a zest for life and loved to laugh and joke around. His children and grandchildren kept him young.
He was preceded in death by his wife Beverely Barker, daughter Deborah Barker and 9 siblings. He is survived by his children, Laurie (Daniel) Reed, Ronald Barker, Leigh Barker, Lynette (Glen) Stevens; 7 grandchildren, Justin, Rachel, Kelsey, Roman, Rachel, Will and Gabe; and many nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bath. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Cancer Society.
