To the family of Bob Montague. Bob was a dear friend of mine. We golfed on Saturdays and enjoyed numerous golf trips to Orlando and Arizona. Bob was a mentor and someone who will always have a special place in my heart.

The only reason I cannot be with you on Saturday is that I have to attend a funeral of another dear friend at the exact same time in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I knew Bob from the Cass Golf League and had many discussions with him about the marines in which we both participated(he was WW2 and I was Viet Nam era). Many golf outings with him and others and this put him in an elite section for few individuals. I cannot make this Saturday as I put a class on that date @ 10:00(couldn’t find a sub). My prayers are with you all..

To Bob’s entire family, our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you. Bob was a very good man. I got to know him through golf league and more closely with the Saturday golfers and I will never forget what an amazing golfer he was, even into his late eighties. We will always remember him as a strong, silent, and courteous man who never said a bad word about anyone. You can always tell a good man by the amount of friends he has and Bob had many, many of them. Bob, you are now in the Good Lord’s care and we hope you save a tee time for us. God Bless you and your family at this difficult time.

We knew Bob through his folks, who were dear neighbors of Jan’s mother, Thelma Potter/Crysler/Butler. He was always a gentle courteous man who
greeted us when we visited our home Church in Holt, and attended funeral services of our parents and sister Carol. He’s one of the persons we wished we had known better. Don & Jan in Vermont

Paul , we were touched that you took the time to call us personally about your father’s passing. As you know, Tom and Bob have been friends since back in the Diamond Reo days, then on thru the golfing days. Having read the messages already written – well, there is just not much more to say. He was a wonderful man and we took great pleasure in knowing him. Our hearts are with you and your family.

I met Bob during MSU hockey & football many years ago. He was a kind gentleman to all his friends & had a great sense of humor. It was a pleasure knowing through the years, he never had a bad word for anyone. God rest his soul, he will be missed by his many friends. My condolences to your entire family.
