Carol and family, words obviously can’t express the deep sympathy and sorrow we share for you. Dick was a great man, with a one of a kind sense of humor. I will never forget the NUMEROUS walks up the hill at the lake with Grandpa just to shoot the breeze with the “old guys” knowing I wanted to emulate the 2 of them when I grew up. Family was clearly #1 to him and it was a pleasure to say the least to have known him. God bless you all during this trying time and may you find comfort in the Lord during your grieving process.

I knew Richard in my childhood as dad James worked at mike’s shop rite. Mother Dorothy would often visit with my mom Edith wickenhiser ; so Richard and I would play. James pride was much like a father to me as he worked most of his life at mike’s. Richard was a fun playmate for a Tom boy like me. I last saw Richard at my dad’s then my mom’s funeral. He was so kind to come after so many years after his dad James died. We talked and talked about our childhood. Dorothy and my mom Edith would often catch up when they would see one another on my mom’s summer trips to Florida when my sister ; a teacher was off for the summer. Dorothy would make jelly and jam and share it with my mom and sister carol. My husband of 38 years worked at mike’s in the dairy department under James direction. I have a great picture of James at the old mike’s in downtown lansing. According to my dad James was just out of high school. I’m so sorry for your loss; I remember Richard very fondly.
