Raymond Orr

Raymond OrrAge 77, passed away March 12, 2011.  He was born April 26, 1933, in Lansing to Ivahn and Ethel Orr, who preceded him in death, along with 2 brothers, Robert and Roy; and sisters-in-law, Diane and Nelda.  Raymond was an engineer at General Motors for 41 years, retiring in 1991.  He was active in the churches he attended, including Grace Community Church in Pelston, where he was an elder, and Fellowship Bible Church in Mason.  Raymond enjoyed spending time with his friends, and liked to bowl and golf with them.  He is survived by:  his wife of 57 years, Joyce; 3 sons, Roger (Cindy) Orr of Sioux City, IA, Matthew (Elizabeth) Orr of Onondaga, and Randall (Melody) Orr of Mason; 5 grandchildren, Joshua Orr, Michael (April) Orr, Rachel (James) Lysakowski, Timothy Orr, and Heather Orr; and several nieces and nephews.  The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Fellowship Bible Church, 1030 West South St., Mason, with Pastor Donn Kenyon officiating.  Interment will follow in Maple Ridge Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice in memory of Raymond Orr.

My condolences to all. I worked with Ray as a young engineer in Lansing. He was a joy to work with. I still have a bible that he gave to me at that time. I will always remember his smile and his caring ways.

I know this has been a difficult time for you. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Joyce, I miss seeing you when I visit Karen and Al. I ask about you often… May God keep you in His hand, and give you a sense of His loving presence.
