Nancy J. Kirchen

Age 74, of Lansing, MI, passed away March 31, 2014. She was born February 15, 1940, in Lima, Ohio, daughter of Everett and Sarah Hillard.

Nancy married Jim Kirchen on October 25, 1964. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and reading and baking. She loved being a grandmother! She was a longtime member of Calvary Christian Fellowship and was involved in their circle meetings. She also enjoyed having lunch at her church nearly every day.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jim; daughter, Jennifer Ann (Ken) Sorrow; grandchildren, Alyssa Barrett, Makenzee Sorrow, and Ken Sorrow, Jr.; brother, Ben (Gloria) Hillard; sister, Sarah Service; sister-in-law, Gloria Hillard; nieces and nephews, Jeff Hillard, Jason (Rachele) Hillard, Amanda (Mitch) Service, Gary Hillard, and Laurie and Kellie; great-niece, Kimberly Service; and great-nephew, Johnathon Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Chet Hillard.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014, at Calvary Christian Fellowship, 3400 S. Cedar St., Suite 100, Lansing, MI. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Nancy, I will always remember you for your selfless nature. Always giving of yourself to others and going witout yourself. And your sweet nature. You were a true treasure and will be missed by many. I am glad you are not hurting any longer. I will see you someday. In the meantime say hello to Dave for me. RIP. Love you always my special friend.

I miss you Me-Me!!!! I think of you all the time! Natalie really messed me up. And blamed everything on our family and brainwashed me into believing her. Please tell aunt Cathy I love her along with Papa.
