Mary Ann Murray

Age 89, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Lansing, MI, passed away November 6, 2014. She was born November 2, 1925, in Flint, MI, daughter of the late Fred and Katharine Penix.

After attending high school and Lansing Community College, Mary Ann was employed as a typesetter at John Henry back in the early 1960s. She also worked as a real estate agent for many years and an antique and fine art dealer. Mary Ann was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, spending lots of time at the beach, and was an excellent cook. She was known for her mac & cheese and her meatloaf.

She is survived by her children, Patrick S. (Jana) Saunders of St. Petersburg, FL and Suzanne (Joseph) Faggion of Onondaga, MI and Dennis L. (Janet) Murray; grandchildren, Stuart Kelley, Alexis Ash, and Seth and Sara Murray; many nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, William H. Murray, and siblings Katherine Heindenthal, Floyd Penix and Helen Hatch.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society or the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
