Mark A. Baur

Mark Allen Baur of Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2016 at the age of 59.  Mark was born March 28, 1957 in Lansing to Robert Baur and Mary Alice Baur (Price). As the second of five kids, he understood the importance of family and that was something that he carried with him until the end. Mark enjoyed fishing with his wife, relaxing with his trusty companion Spirit, and debating with his daughter. His biggest joy in life was and will always be his granddaughter. He served as the facilities manager at CNSI and was an active member with the Potterville Masonic Lodge # 367.

Mark is survived by his wife Deborah of 28 years; daughter Danielle; granddaughter Reagan; brother Douglas Baur (Renee); sisters Mary Weinzweig (Jon) and Amy Okan (Keith); as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jeff and nephew Douglas. The family would like to thank Eaton Community Palliative Care for the compassion they showed Mark in his final days and also a big thank you to his CNSI family. A celebration of life will be held on May 21, 2016 from 2:00PM – 4:00PM at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw St., Lansing, MI. In lieu of flowers the family asks for contributions to be made to Eaton Community Palliative Care, in memory of Mark Baur.

Sorry to learn of Mark’s death. We could always count on Mark and Jeff to join in on a scrub baseball game down at Windermere View when we were growing up. We all lived in a great neighborhood back then with lots of activities nightly in good weather. Mark was certainly an asset to those good times. Prayers of strength and comfort for his family and may God bless them and watch over them in the years to come.

This is definitely a rude shock and reminds all of us of life’s ephemeral nature. May God give strength and courage to all near and dear ones to bear this loss.
Mark, you were a kind person and you are in my thoughts.
RIP

I’ve only known Mark for 6 short months but in that time it was clear to me that Mark’s work, family and friends were something he treasured dearly. It is quite apparent he made a huge impact on many, including me. Mark you will be missed.

Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can not heal. Walk on by Faith each day, for GOD sees, HE hears, HE knows, and HE understands. Rest in HIS care.
