A wonderful woman that touched the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of coming into contact with her. A selfless life that she lived that many should emulate. We all will miss you Grandma but keeping you here is selfish as you have been called upon to take your love and talents to a better place where we all will be reunited. God bless in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Marjory faced some hurdles in life but came through them all resiliently.
She loved her family very much and they loved her.
When she saw you, her beautiful green eyes and happy smile lit up!
She was like a warm gentle breeze on a sunny day.
We will miss her-my condolences to all who loved her.

She was a wonderful, loving, caring lady. She endured many things in her life, but rose above them and found happiness with the love of her life. My heart aches with her passing but I rejoice in knowing that she dances amongst the angels. My love, prayers and hugs go out to her family.

Aunt Marge was such a wonderful, strong, loving women! She always had a kind word to say and loved everyone so much. I miss her terribly already. Even though she was my great aunt, she was more like a grandmother to me. I always enjoyed the holidays with her and Uncle Mack. Thanksgiving and Christmas just isn’t the same without Aunt Marge and Uncle Mack. I always looked forward to all the sweets she would bake at Christmas time. But, I know she is now in the company of her best friend and sister, my grandma Pat, and I’m sure they are having a ball together in heaven. I hope one day I can be half as amazing as she was! My thoughts and prayers are with her entire family. I know she meant so much to everyone, and I know she is watching over all of her loved ones! <3

My “second mom”….I will really miss her.
Lots of good memories that I will never forget.
She always made me laugh and kept me in line.
I know she and mom are laughing and “up to no
good” just like they used to do.

Yes Aunt Marge all 61 years of your “SWEET COOKING” made me the best diabetic ever. I will never forget seeing you and mom nibbling the food and as you would say “Just to taste Test “. Uncle Mack will have to take over now but promise we will watch the amount he tries. The many vacations at Houghton and Higgens Lake were wonderful. Between moms sewing and yours I think you made clothes for all of us. I do have to say that William & Frances Haight raised three fine daughters, Pat Bruegger, Marjory Hethorn, Judy Litterst

So hard to realize that I have lost my two wonderful sisters within 15 months–the exact amount of time between losing Mom and Dad four decades ago. Even as she faced the ravages of Alzheimer’s, she kept that beautiful smile and those beautiful, sparkling eyes. Marge was more than a sister–she was my second mom, my early babysitter, my confidant, my friend, the one who taught me to sew and do other crafts, the one who taught me how to develop self confidence, the one who taught me how to cook. As I was going through recipes, I found ones in her handwriting and it brought back so many memories of being over at her house when she’d be cooking up a storm. As I write this, I have a strong craving for beef and homemade noodles and for her Christmas date bars! I’ll never forget the craziness of the three sisters driving back from Florida after losing our mother. In tragedy we could support one another and laugh through tears. Oh, the stories we shared on that trip! How fabulous that she could visit us in Minnesota, although I felt badly about the time she and Mack stayed through a horrendous storm that took out much of our front yard. Like anything else, she realized disaster and helped us get through it. I still can hear the utter joy in her voice when she called us on February 1, 1980 to tell us that she’d become a wife, mother and grandmother on the same day. Visits to Blue Lake, to Florida, to campgrounds where we’d meet up with Pat and Bob. So many good memories–and, it is those memories that will help sustain us all. Miss you, Big Sis. Miss you a lot!

Gloria asked me to have you call her (517) 349-2445 she said you knew her tx but just in case.
My thoughts & prayers are with you, I understand I have lost 3 husbands it is not easy.

Oh when I think of Aunt Marge it’s like thinking of my own Mother. When my parents moved to Wisconsin and I stayed in Michigan to attend college, it was Aunt Marge’s home I would go “home” to most weekends. We would sit around the kitchen table and talk, or I would sit, while she cooked, or ironed, or was sewing/mending something. She was always busy and always doing for someone else. Always! One summer she even went with me to sewing classes. She was my substitute Mom during my college days. What a jewel! And then as an adult she and Mack spent almost every Thanksgiving and Christmas with the whole Bruegger clan. What wonderful memories we will always have of those times. My daughter Jennifer was certain she had two sets of maternal grandparents….Mom and Dad and Aunt Marge and Uncle Mack…. Andthey all belonged to her! And the funniest part of those holidays was that I think Mom and Marge plotted the whole year to see who could make the best, most perfect, most unique gift for each other.
Aunt Marge, I will miss you forever but find comfort that you and Mom and Dad are together. Oh, and I have pinned on my pink ribbon in your honor. Although I never imagined (no one ever does) on becoming a member of this “sorority” at least I’m in good company. I love you Auntie Marge.

Marge was a great friend for many years. We shared lots of fun times at Blue Lake. Marge was a fabulous cook and shared some recipes with me, so when I cook those recipes, I feel her looking over my shoulder saying okey doke. I have missed her since she and Mack moved back to Lansing & will continue to miss her but know she is now in a better place. Hugs to Mack & the kids.

Though her smile is gone forever
and her hand I cannot touch,
I still have so many memories
of the one I loved so much.

Her memory is now my keepsake
Which with I’ll never part.
God has her in his keeping,
But I will always have her in my heart.

Today we gather to share the memories of a women who was strong, patient, kind and true.

There will never be anyone in this world with a touch that was as gentle as hers. I can even remember-as a little one, even with just peach fuzz-, she would brush my hair for hours, or rub my back and her gwntle touch would soothe me to sleep on her lap.

She always demanded little, gave everything, and never expecting anything in return.

Her smile was like sunshine, and would light up a room. I have never met anyone else who made life look as easy as she did.

Though, I have so many great memories, my favorite is not a moment that we shared together, but it is what I witnesses my entire life.

It was the endless love and care she and Grandpa shared for so many years. The tender hugs, the stolen kisses when they thought no one was watching. The way they both would look at each other every morning while Grandma prepared breakfast in the kichen, and Grandpa sang to old county music songs while reading the paper at the table.

Or the times I would watch you both spin around dancing cheek to cheek to the radio. Or holding each other while relaxing on a pontoon ride around the lake.

Even until her last few days with us, though she could not physically express her unconditional love she had for Grandpa, she’d smile and would gleam with excitement everytime he’d walk into the room. The way her eyes would beam when she heard his voice, showed me what true and endless love was.

Granted it could have been all the cookies, shakes, or frostys grandpa brought fpr her everyday on his visits, that she loved too. 😉

Never the less, you both are my rolemodles, and I can only hope to be as loving, compassionate, supportive and devoted to someone, as you both have been to one another for so many years.

And finally, Grandma, I can only dream to be half the women you were. A women who took on every challenge in life, even in the end- with strength, humor, a smile, poise, and confidence.

Please remember that, no matter where our lives may go, we will trust the Lord above and through it all
I will always thank him for my grandmother’s love.
