Marilyn K. Moore
Marilyn passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the age of 77. She was born in Lansing on May 23, 1934 to Melvin and Bethel Proctor. Marilyn was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School, and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. She worked for General Motors for 35 years, and owned her own business, MK Ceramics.
Surviving are her daughter, Kimberly Conklin; grandchildren, Daniel (Selena Youngs) Conklin, Casey (Amelia) Conklin, Nickolas (Kathryn) Conklin, and Lilly Conklin; sister, Janet Thayer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Moore; son-in-law, David Conklin; great-grandson, Hendrix Conklin.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 p.m. Daniel Conklin, Casey Conklin, Nickolas Conklin, and Ronald Moore will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Holt Relay For Life.

I was saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. She and I worked together at Oldsmobile years ago and, with Pam Ballard we enjoyed ceramics back when your mom and dad were operating the studio in their ‘spare’ time. The last time we spoke she seemed to be enjoying retirement and the rural life – I wish she’d had more time, but then we always wish that for those we love. Sending love and support in this difficult time.
