Great times at Waverly High School are remembered: Assistant football coaching, Football Concessions, and Varsity Club.

Other remembrances:

MSU football games over the years were especially memorable with Luke-pregame tailgating as well as sitting with him during the games.

A “UP” fishing trip that took three days to get out of Muskegon because everyone knew Luke and wanted to be with him.

Picking blueberries at the farm while Luke was at WMU taking a one credit class

An occasional “pou na pous” at the Polish Home.

Las Vegas and Kentucky Derby trips with Rose and Luke were especially fun.

Luke,
You were a wonderful teacher, husband, father, grandpa, and the best friend anyone could have. Thanks for being a big part of our lives. We will certainly miss you!

Our prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

We will miss you.

Leslie and family….So very sorry for your loss. I remember ‘Mr. Lillmars’ best when he coached my daughter in pee-wee basketball. He was always an encouraging coach and had a special way of teaching; she loved to play for him. Everyone that knew Luke loved him. He will surely be missed. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

As a former student and Varsity club member, I remember him well. I loved PE with him, and loved how is was so gentle. He always let me sneek out early for lunch as I went home most every day. I am sorry he had to battle with Alzheimers. My own father is battling the disease now. Bless him for his difficult journey and bless you all for having to endure watching someone you love die slowly. Its a LONG grieving process when someone has Alzheimers. Remember the good times as I am remember the wonderful teacher he was.
