Lois Louise Case

Holt, MI

Born November 29, 1935

Died April 12, 2018

Lois was born and raised in Cassville, Wisconsin, on a working farm.  Was loved and cherished by her Father and Mother George and Madeline Garner.  She was third in line to sister LaVon and brother Stanley all who preceded her in death and met her at the gate for a game of cards.

Lois left her family home in Wisconsin at the tender age of 18 to attend beauty school Dubuque, Iowa – from there set out to explore the world.  Her goal was to visit every capitol city in the United States.  She landed first in Lansing, Michigan, where she met her extended family of “sisters” at Sisters Styling Salon.   Shortly thereafter met and married the love of her life Ron Case.  They proceeded to grow their loving family of five April (Jeff), Holly (Mick), Tim, Jan and Chuck (Linda).

She will be greatly missed and remembered by all who loved her especially her five children, 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and her loving husband Ron.

Lois was an active member of St. James Catholic Church in Mason, Michigan, where she participated and used her craft in the Rosary Makers Club, crafting thousands of rosaries, spreading the message of love and faith to her family and beyond.

Lois was a lover of all things creative, she was a master gardener, painter, seamstress, and crafter – her talents were endless, an example for us all – give it a go, put your heart into it.

We were blessed with many years of great family memories.

Mother’s Day Moral Mushroom Hunt • Monday Night Bowing League • house parties • Golf – she would play with the best of them! • Travel • Christmas Eve -Santa Bags on front porch • Easter Puzzles and Kite Flying • Granny Motel – staying up late, and eating whatever we wanted • Sewing • Making matching outfits as we were growing up – as well as an extensive wardrobe for our dolls • Making the most beautiful quilts for her entire family, creating and of course the final special touch of hand quilting each and every one • Family camping trips • Fun Tyme Water Park • Teaching the finer art of golf at the chip and putt course • Family road trips to Wisconsin and the fun we had when we arrived • Creating crafting tubs for road trips • Love Sign Book – adding pictures throughout the years as the family grew • Picking Strawberries • Taking time to show me the correct ratio for making perfect gravy • your craft show • Keeping us all supplied with washcloths, scarves and hats • Beating me at Scrabble • Cribbage • proverbs • Finishing crossword puzzles for Dad • camp fires • Teaching your canning techniques — peaches, jam, pickles, green beans • teaching crochet and knitting to my kids as their after school activity • Fun times with the Lateral Thinking Puzzle book • Turkeyville •  The best peanut butter cookies ever • Passing on your bread making skills – we will forever try to duplicate • She was a straight shooter and spoke her mind, she had a quick wit and a fantastic sense of humor • She was a card playing master — Spades, Peanut, Euchre Canasta, Solitaire and Solo – she is at peace now playing her Club Solo Do…

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. Her family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

The family requests any monetary donations be made to the Rosary Makers in care of St. James Catholic Church, 1010 S. Lansing Street, Mason, Michigan 48854.

The family will host a lunch immediately after the memorial at the Eagles located at 1111 N. Cedar Street, Mason, Michigan 48854.

Auntie Lois was truly the best and always a joy to visit with. Her humor, excellent meals, a haircut when needed, sewing and quilting tips, and just spending time laughing and chatting. She will be truly missed, love you!

One of the best! My neighbor growing up. I remember she tried to teach me to knit. I babysat the five kids when they went bowling. A great neighbor, she was so friendly, always. Loved her smiles and laughs. She used to cut my hair and I always liked it!

I am so sorry to hear about your mom’s passing. I am the Jarrad’s North Carolina cousin who spent countless hours at your house when we were all little. I remember that your house was a very warm, happy place.

She taught me how to be a good Woman. She always had time to give advise. We solved all the worlds problems over our coffee. She will forever be in my heart

Lois was one of a kind, what a great lady she was! I remember us Jarrad’s going next door and Lois gave us hair cuts and perms. We also liked to play there, climb the big apple tree & hangout. I truly admired Lois, she was a great neighbor mom.
Lois made a beautiful “I Love You” pillow written in 13 different languages for my wedding in 1999. I still have it and love it! Prayers and hugs to Ron, April, Holly, Tim, Jan & Chuck and your familes.
Love you all!
Heaven received another beautiful angel.

What a lady! The entire David family will greatly miss her. She was such a happy and delightful person. We know that LaVon is delighted to be reunited with her sister. I’ve also always been inspired by the closeness of your entire family, no doubt Aunt Lois played a huge part in that dynamic.

I am sure Mom is happy to have her sister at her side, but Aunt Lois will be sorely missed.
