Kenneth J. Kimmel

Kenneth J. Kimmel was born in St. Johns, Michigan, December 11, 1946, to Kenneth S. and Vivian G. (Waldren) Kimmel. Ken died December 6, 2014, after a brief illness.  He had been living at Whitehills Health Care Center in East Lansing, MI.

Ken retired from Department of Agriculture where he had worked as a watchman and maintenance for 25 years. Before that he was employed by Sparrow Hospital.

Ken was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian, who passed in February 1986.

He is survived by his wife, Donna (Simmons), they were married for 26 ½ years.  Their babies were Timmy and Teddybear – their poodles.

Ken and Donna met at South Baptist Church.

He’s also survived by his father, Kenneth S. and stepmom Esther; his sisters, Nancy (Kenneth) Porter of Eaton Rapids and Deborah (Raymond) Green of Potterville; a niece, Raelynn Poole of Tavares, Florida; and nephew, Jason (Kathy) Poole  of Lansing, Michigan.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel with Pastor James Planck officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

I am so sorry to hear of Kenn’s passing. He was a good friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
