Joshua J. Bruskotter

Josh BruskotterAge 27, passed away February 22, 2013.  He was born March 22, 1985, in Big Rapids and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 2003.  Josh’s love for computers enabled him to make a business of building computers.  His competitive spirit kept his own computer faster than his family and friends, and he would encourage them to allow him to provide them with upgrades.  Josh also loved movies and video games.  He enjoyed going to see movies at the theater, as well as increasing his own collection of movies.  Josh would spend time with his best friend, Peter, playing video games and watching WWE.  His family will remember his opinionated and passionate discussions with family members and friends.

Surviving are:  his mother, Shirley (John) Aquino of Holt; siblings, Jeremy (Elizabeth Klein) Bruskotter, Sarah (Tom Stanek) Haase, and Eric (Paula) Bruskotter; nephews and niece, Ezra, Miles, Baxter, Macy, and soon-to-be nephew, Owen; uncles, Dick Hrabal, Rick Gleim and Randy Gleim; aunt, Julie Merkel; as well as several cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin, in 2007; aunt, Judy Brutchak; cousin, John Hrabal; and aunt, Nancy Hrabal.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Holt United Methodist Church, 2321 N. Aurelius Rd, with The Rev. Dr. Glenn M. Wagner officiating.  The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Joshua Bruskotter.

Joshua was and is my favorite student. I loved seeing him and argueing politics and such with him. I think of him often and will miss him greatly. He and his family were well loved in Big Rapids and we all send best wishes to the family. Shirley, if I could be there I would hug you and tell you how well loved you are by Josh and that he will always be with you in your heart. He is running around in heaven now and it will only be a matter of time before we see him again. God Bless you all.

Our heartfelt condolences to the family. When someone special falls asleep in death, it is very hard to let go of the fact that they are no longer with us. We will miss holding them in our arms again and hear their laughter or see their smiles again. Our God, Jehovah offers a future hope for our loved ones, which will help ease our feelings of loss today. May the coming days bring you comfort and peace (Isaiah 26:19).
