Jose G. Perez

Age 83, passed away November 20, 2010, in Lansing.  He was born February 14, 1927, in Cerralvo, Mexico, to Epigmenio Gonzalez and Marina Perez.

Jose was a member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church. He worked 30 years at General Motors. Jose loved music and was the manager of his son’s band for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mamie Perez; his children, Olga Perez, Patricia (Barbaro) Larrinaga, Joseph (Gloria) Perez and Jesse (Agatha) Perez; 11 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Damian Gonzalez; Santos (Bertha) Gonzalez; sisters, Oralia (Ofelio) Perez, Martha (Pablo) Galvan, and Marina Gonzalez of Lansing; a brother-in-law, Floyd (Virginia) Luna. The family would like to make a special thank you to the entire staff of the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan for their care.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 26, 2010, at the Cristo Rey Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Fr. Frederick L. Thelen and Deacon Rogelio Alfara.  There will be visitation at the church Friday, 9:00 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
