It has been our privilege to have known Joanne since we moved to Lansing in 1971. Our children grew up with the Coon children. Joanne has been a wonderful friend and a strong supporter of Christian educaton. May each one in the family find encougement and comfort in remembering the many outstanding qualities that Joanne had in her life. Her legacy will live on. She will be missed in so many different ways. Bev and I wish that we were able to be with you on Friday. We will be with you in thought and prayer. Let’s plan on meeting her again on reunion day.

I remember going to your house and they were some of the first Sabbaths I ever kept. As I grew, I went my own way. It is the things I learned in youth and education I recieved that gave me something to “return” to. I would be totally lost w/o that education and w/o those memories of how to do certain things. I must say thank-you for both. I desire for all of us to re-unite one day very soon. I have that hope thanks to people such as Joanne that cared enough to see that someone like me were taught the right things. I am so sorry that I was not able to be there personally. Much love and prayers.

Feeling the loss in Alabama. Aunt Joanne was such a sweet, loving lady with a great sense of humor. Though I didn’t see her often, she held a special place in my heart. Thinking of you all; especially Trish, Jeff, Uncle Max & Max.

I am saddened to hear of Joanne’s death. My heart goes out to your whole family! My memories of her go back to 1973 when I came to Lansing SDA in eighth grade. Jill was the very first girl to befriend me. I have many happy memories at the Coon home and glad Joanne was able to live her last days at home with such wonderful caregivers. Both Joanne and my dear mother fought a valiant battle against the cruel debilitation of Parkinson’s disease. We are so fortunate to have had such beautiful, loving, dedicated mothers. May God give you memories that will shine through your sorrow.
