Jack Rachman
Of East Lansing, Michigan. Died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at age 82. He was the beloved husband of Naomi Rachman for 57 years. Loving father of Eliot (Belinda) Rachman, Sharon (Michael) Gertz, and Elizabeth Rachman. Cherished grandfather of Andrew, Ben, Sarah, Lily, and Ellie. Dear brother of Barbara (Howard) Schlactus and loving uncle to her children and their families.
Funeral Service will be held at Congregation Shaarey Zedek, 1924 Coolidge Rd., East Lansing on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. with Rabbi Amy Bigman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Congregation Shaarey Zedek, 1924 Coolidge Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823. Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

December 26, 2012 at 12:16 pmJack was a force of nature. His many talents were freely shared with those who spent time with this modern day sage. One always left a visit with Jack with more than they had when they arrived. His knowledge on an amazing number of subjects was balanced with his unique wit. No one told a joke better than Jack and while tears are in our eyes today, it is the laughter we will carry in our memory as we go on without him. Our heartfelt sympathy to all who had the blessing of many years of life with Jack. His wife Naomi who shouldered his care these many years and who in the last several months defined the helpmate we all pray for with endurance and grace. To his family we share the loss of this most special man.
