Harry C. Lawrence, Jr.

  Age 92, of Lansing, MI, passed away July 19, 2014. He was born May 27, 1922, in Detroit, MI, son of the late Harry, Sr. and Anna Lawrence.

Harry proudly served in the Army during World War II. He retired from G.M. as a supervisor, was a member of C.A.R.D.S. and the VFW.

He is survived by his children, Mary (Joe) Radogna, Harry Stephen (Marcia) Lawrence, Jack E. (Tammy) Lawrence, Jeane A. (Roger) Berends, Thomas M. (Gina) Lawrence and Douglas G. Lawrence; 7 grandsons and 9 granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Lawrence; second wife, Marion Lawrence; 1 grandson; and 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Msgr. Bernard Reilly at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at St. Mary Cathedral, 219 Seymour St., Lansing. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

I send my deepest condolences. Harry was such a vibrant man and I always loved his welcoming smile and his warmth and know that he will be deeply missed by all of his family and many friends.

Papa Harry will be missed at family gatherings. It was always a delight to watch the two papa’s (Robert) engaged in lively conversation!

Amanda and I send our deepest condolences. Uncle Harry was such a vibrant man, sharp in mind and a hero. Harry C. Lawrence, Jr showed me how to embrace a passion-flying I fly all the time and will always think of him. Harry C. Lawrence, Jr will always remember by his smile, warmth and kindness- he will be deeply missed by all our family and friends.
