Gertrude I. Lundberg

Age 97, passed away September 18, 2012.  She was born July 29, 1915, in Lansing, and had been a lifelong resident.  Gertrude was a longtime member of the former Calvary United Methodist Church and currently a member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church.  Her joys in life include selling Avon, which she did for 47 years, up to the time of her death; and cooking meals for her family, especially on holidays.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Roy in 2004; a son, Charles Lundberg; 3 sisters, Opal Fluke, Pauline Rochowiak and Carrie Dubois.  Surviving are:  son, Keith D. (Janice) Lundberg of Holt; 2 daughters, Betty (James) Koessel of Lansing and Janice (Bill) Hause of Mason; daughter-in-law, Joyce Lundberg of Florida; 9 grandchildren, Greg, Mike and Matt Koessel, Steven and Kimberly Lundberg, Tami Hiner, Lew Taylor, Cathie Thomas and Cherie Lundberg; 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2012, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with Pastor Rob B. Cook of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church officiating.  Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday.  Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Palliative Care.

Our prayers are with you all as you mourn your loss and celebrate her life. She was a person that when I thought of her I smiled!

We will miss Gert, and all of the times we spent together. We were neighbors for many, many years. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I and my family will never forget her. Love to all. Dell and Family.
