Eleanor M. DeMarco
Lansing, Michigan. Born March 22, 1920 in Lansing, Michigan daughter of the late Chester and Leona (Oakes) Leasure died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at age 93. Eleanor was a longtime member of Church of the Resurrection, a member of the University Club. She loved to dance, play cards, cook, and spend time with her faithful companion, Ginger. Survivors include her 4 children; Joseph (Sheila) DeMarco, Christine Sellick, Robert DeMarco, William DeMarco; grandchildren, Brooke (Chris) Leyrer, Derek DeMarco, Rachael Sellick, Alex Sellick; great grandchildren, Koort Leyrer, Kolin Leyrer, Ariana DeMarco, and Joey DeMarco; along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor DeMarco in 2000; brothers, Marvin Leasure, and Rex Leasure; and sister, Marge Wade. Funeral services will be held at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Williamston. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. Those who wish may make memorial contributions, in loving memory of Eleanor, to St. Vincent’s Home for Children, or Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
