Elbert Junior "Al" Stuber

Elbert Junior "Al" StuberAl Stuber (Junior, as he was called by some), age 78, of Holt, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, after a short battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease).  He was born June 20, 1937, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, to Elbert and Elizabeth Stuber, who preceded him in death, along with his sisters, Joyce, Connie and Nancy; and his son, David.

Al is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kay; his son, Jim; daughters, Robyn Noble and Wendy (Tracy) Graham; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two very special granddaughters, Brooke and Caitlynn Graham, who he adored; brothers, Bob (Connie) and Jack (Marsha) Stuber; several in-laws, nieces and nephews and his special friend, George Milekovich.

Al worked for T.A. Forsberg as a truck driver until his retirement 26 years ago.  He enjoyed going to the casino in St. Ignace, traveling to Florida and going on cruises.

His family would like to thank Eaton Community Palliative Care and Great Lakes Caring Hospice for their wonderful care.

A celebration of Al’s life will be from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at New Hope Community Church, 436 W. Harris, Charlotte, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eaton Community Palliative Care in memory of Elbert Stuber.

God saw him getting tired,

and a cure was not to be

So He put His arms around him

and whispered,

“Come to Me.”

With tearful eyes we watched him suffer,

and saw him slowly fade away.

Although we loved him dearly,

we could not make him stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,

and working hands put to rest,

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He only takes the best.

Kay & family,
Al will be missed. He would always say “here comes trouble” when he saw me. We have been neighbors for a very long time and good friends. It’s just good to know that he is at peace now. My thoughts are with you all at this time.

Love,
Kathy

My deepest symptoms on the loss of your step-father. I know you loved him and miss him. He is free of pain and suffering now and rests with his Lord in heaven.

My prayers for continued comfort to Kay and her family. All always had a smile and words to share with all whom he met. Even in his last days when I visited, he had special thought that he shared with me. May he fine rest and peace in the arms of God.
