Carl R. Brock

Carl R. BrockAge 89, passed away June 15, 2012.  He was born December 20, 1922, in St. Joseph, MI, to Elsie and Alonzo Brock.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Eldora Evelyn (Bancroft) Brock, after 52 years of marriage.  He was also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Alonzo Jr., Robert, Louis, Richard and Ivan; and sister, Ruth (Brock) Blood.

Carl grew up and graduated in Woodland, MI, class of 42, was in WWII and was action in Europe and also in the Philippines until 1946.

Carl retired from Industrial Metal Products Co. (IMPCO) after 46 years of service as toolmaker and mechanical engineer, and was a life member of the Olds-Higgins Post #3727, VFW.

He leaves behind a son, Jeffrey C. Brock; a daughter, Sandra K. (Brock) Niblack; grandson, Carl Martin Snyder; 2 great granddaughters, Grace E. and Teia May; great grandson, James D.; and a very dear friend for many years, Marietta Ripley.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Olds-Higgins Post #3727, VFW, P.O. Box 471, Holt, MI  48842, in memory of Carl Brock.

Very sorry to read of the passing of your Dad. I know
how hard it is to lose a parent.

Hi Jeff,
Sorry to hear about your dad. I enjoyed working with you and him at IMPCO. He was a good one up in engineering to go in and talk to. Sorry I won’t be able to make it, but my thoughts and prayers there.
