Bonnie J. (Beck) Rosher

Bonnie Joanne Rosher, age 89, of Holt, MI, passed away March 30, 2016. She was born to George Franklin Beck and Ethel May Beck (Lawrence) on the 21 November, 1926.  She was named Johan Lavonne Beck which she later changed to Bonnie Joanne.  She had an older half brother named Lawrence Eugene Sabin and a younger sister named Beverly Georgette Beck.  Her family grew up during the depression but they never lacked for food as her mother canned everything that they obtained from their very large garden.

She married Marlen George Rosher on 12 September, 1946, in Indiana.  She said they only had about two dimes to rub together when they were married.  They adopted a little girl who was six months old.  Bonnie sewed a lot of dresses for her little girl.  As a family they traveled all over the United States, to Canada, Mexico and even Europe. Bonnie enjoyed reading her Bible as she was very religious which she learned at a young age as her grandfather Lawrence was an Anglican Minister from England.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husband.  She leaves her daughter, Candy Clark and son-in-law Rodney, her grandchildren, Faran and C.J. Garland, Cameron and Ashlie Clark, Janelle Clark and her fiancé, John Gates, Trevor Clark and his fiancée, Elizabeth Eastman, and her beloved great-granddaughter, Eliona “Ellie” Clark. Also her brother-in-law, Galen Rosher and wife Ilah, sister-in-law Norma Rosher, Phyllis Chappell, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2016, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5301 Holt Rd., Holt. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holt United Methodist Church or to the Holt Ward, for their young men and young women’s fund, c/o The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.

You and Marlen were wonderful, caring god-parents. I remember the warmth of your hugs and smiles and know you will be missed very much by all those whose lives you touched.
