Beverly W. Lockhart

Age 84, passed away November 11, 2016, after being diagnosed with heart disease 20 years before.  She was born February 7, 1932, in Detroit, to George and Mildred Wollgast.  Beverly’s lifelong career in nursing included working in hospitals, nursing homes and doctor offices, and ranged from pediatrics to geriatrics.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, playing euchre, her cats and a scotch and soda.

Surviving are:  her husband of 63 years, Hugh Lockhart; daughters, Kathryn “Kathi” Lockhart and Caryn Coyle; son, David Lockhart; exchange daughter, Ana Periard of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; sister-in-law, Elsie Kelly of Fruitland Park, FL; numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews; and dear cousin, Joyce “Sis” Stevenson of Plymouth, MI.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Allan Coyle and her brothers, Bob and Bill Garrett.

Beverly’s family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, from 1:00 – 3:00 and 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2016.  In addition, a private memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, Ingham County Animal Control Shelter or American Heart Association in memory of Beverly Lockhart.
