Barry Lee Tons

Barry Lee TonsAge 60, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2016, at his home. He was born June 21, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Eugene and Phyllis (Feldman) Tons. He was a graduate of University of Missouri and was a staunch Mizzou Tigers fan. His daughters have fond memories of him mowing the lawn with his St. Louis Cardinals hat on and the radio tuned to their games.

In his early career, he was a recreational therapist before Barry becoming a self-employed accountant.  He grew his accounting business, Baron Tons, LLC, with his deceased business partner, John Baron.  Barry thrived, leading his dedicated staff through tax season, and thought of his co-workers as part of his family. Barry was an active participant in the local business community, forming lasting relationships with the families and businesses he supported.

He is survived by his daughters, Allison (Derek), and Marissa (Steve); grandchildren, Easton and Parker; brother, Bruce (Sherri); and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2016, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  His family will greet friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Friday.
