Albina V. Petrilli

Age 99, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away June 29, 2015. She was born January 7, 1916, in Grenville, South Dakota, daughter of the late Jackob and Augusta Pionk.

Albina was a longtime member of St. Mary Cathedral. She reached her life goal of creating a better life for blind people through organizations especially for the blind and by making sure blind people were integrated into their communities.

She is survived by her children, Henrietta Brewer, Carol (Ed) Osmar and David (Deborah) Petrilli; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Jackob Pionk; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Petrilli; grandson, Robert Albo; and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at St. Mary Cathedral in Lansing. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township. The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Rainbow Homes, Xavier Society for the Blind or to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.

Albina was a long-time client of the Xavier Society for the Blind in New York, and a great friend. A Mass will be celebrated here for her, and we are grateful that we had the privilege of knowing her.
