James Frank Coven

Of Grand Haven, Michigan (formerly of Lansing)

Born March 18, 1934 in Lansing, Michigan son of the late Stanley and Ruth (Avery) Coven went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 9, 2012 at age 78.

James was a graduate of Lansing Sexton High School and Lansing Business University. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a partner of Lansing Electric Co. for 31 years. Mr. Coven was also a longtime member of South Church.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Patricia Coven; their 4 daughters, Deborah (Richard) Pugh of Westland, MI., Kimberly (Rev. Kenneth) Thompson of Atlanta, GA., Diane (Thomas) Erdman of Amarillo, TX., and Pamela (David) DeWitt of Grand Haven, MI.; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Virginia (Clarence) Pettit, David (Jo) Coven, and Ann Russell along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Public visitation will be held at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel on Thursday, November, 15th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will be private.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions, in Mr. Coven’s memory to, Heartwood Lodge Hospice, 18525 Woodland Ridge Dr., Spring Lake, MI 49456.
