JeAnne O. Ingersol

Age 83, of East Lansing, passed away September 14, 2012. She was born September 17, 1928, in Lansing.  She was a 40-year Chicago resident, journalist, nationally recognized public relations executive. She was a graduate of East Lansing High School and MSU Communications School class of 1950. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta, and a member and served as Chicago president of Women In Communication.

She was predeceased by parents Austin O. and Leona (Smith) Ingersol, sister Gloria Schmitt, niece Shirleylyn Schmitt, nephew Bruce Schmitt, all of Wheaton, IL, and nephew Brian Schmitt of Lisle, IL. She is survived by her niece, Beverly Kirsten of Lansing; grandnieces, Glorilyn Kirsten Castagna of Spring Lake, MI, Faith Floeter-Kirsten of Lansing; along with a host of friends, business and media colleagues.

Services have been held. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 W. Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI  48906. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Sexton Class of 1946 member and knew JeAnnne when we both were in Rainbow together. Lost track of her when we finished school. I was so sorry to hear of her death and express my sincere sympathy to her family.
