Elloyce "El" G. Crane

Elloyce “El” died in Christ on Monday, April 30, 2012 at the age of 96 years. He was born February 16, 1916, in Lansing, the son of the late Harold and Eda Crane.

He was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church in Lansing, a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy, and a member of the Morley S. Oates, Post #701, VFW. He was employed by Michigan Farm Bureau for many years.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Lowell Crane; his sister, Edith McManus; and great-grandson, Nicholas McCord. He is survived by his wife, Dolores N.; children, Carol L. (Rev. Walter) Ledogar of New Lenox, IL, Barbara A. (Rev. Gerald) Kovac of St. Louis, MO, Christina E. (Paul) Blackney of Atlanta, GA, and Harold G. Crane of Westmont, IL; stepsons, David (Audrey) Putman of Lansing, James (Deb) Putman of Holt, Dean (Sue) Putman of Rochester Hills; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Crane of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church, 122 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Lansing, with Pastor Zerit Yohannes officiating. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Lansing, MI.  Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Bunny, so sorry to hear of the death of your father. Even after 96 years it’s never easy to say good bye. The one consulation I have found is when they were alive I was always feeling guilty about how I should be spending more time with them and now all I have to do is think of them and they are right with me.
