Carl C. Wilcox, Jr.

Age 80, of Lansing, passed away March 14, 2012.  He was born May 25, 1931, in Locke Township, the son of Carl and Sophia Wilcox.  Carl was a longtime, respected business owner, and owned Carl’s Market, Carl’s Meat Market, and Bobcat of Lansing, as well as being a driver for the Lansing State Journal for over 20 years and retired Deputy Chief from Delhi Township Fire Department.  He was a former Boy Scout Master for Troop 92, member of the Moose Lodge and Chief Okemos Sportsman Club.  He enjoyed being up north at the cabin, and going to the horse races and the casino, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are:  his wife and soul mate of 62 years, Marjorie; sons, David (Susan) Wilcox of Holt and Dean (Cindy) Wilcox of DeWitt; 8 grandchildren, Ryan, Chris, Elizabeth, Todd (Amy), Trevor (Shelley) Wilcox, Lindsey (Jeremy) Clark, Nicole Hollebrands and Rob Hollebrands; 9 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Farynn, Paytin, Dakota, Ashton, Rylee, Mykaylah, Rihanna and Aiden; sister, Alice Faught of Laingsburg; several nieces and nephews, and his best furry buddy, Koko II.

Carl’s family expresses a special thank you to Dr. Enrique Lopez, Tammy Sillmore, Cecille Glatz, and their staff for their compassionate care.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 815 Sparrow Ave., Lansing, with Fr. Bill Lugger officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Breslin Cancer Center, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, National Kidney Foundation of Michigan, or McLaren Hospice in memory of Carl Wilcox.

Even though I knew this was coming to see it made it all the more real. I miss you already grandpa. I Love You always and forever. WE will meet again someday. (I love you grandma, dad)
