Ward J. Taphouse, Jr.

Ward Joseph Taphouse, Jr., age 91, of East Lansing, MI, passed away peacefully on Feb. 27, 2012.  Born in Detroit on Nov. 26, 1920 to Ward J. Taphouse and Ila Pearl Meisner Taphouse, “Tap” was a graduate of Michigan State University and served honorably as an officer in the Army during World War II and the Korean War.  A retired insurance underwriter at The Hartford, he was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church.

Predeceased by his wife, Norma “Bunny” Smith Taphouse, he leaves behind children Kathryn and Douglas Taphouse, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1315 Abbot Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, 1210 W.
