Monica Louise (Dorn) Jennings

Age 79, of Holt, beloved mother, sister and grandmother went to join our Lord and Savior on January 11, 2012.  She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on April 14, 1932, the daughter of Rev. Herbert and Anna (Rippe) Dorn.

She was raised in Grand Rapids and graduated from the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Wayne Indiana, serving as a nurse before becoming a homemaker.  She later returned to nursing and was also active with the Sparrow Hospital volunteer program and the alter guild at church.  She had a strong love of music and played cello throughout her life.  She enjoyed playing bridge, camping and spending time with her grandchildren.  Her love of traveling took her to Ireland, Alaska, Hawaii, Australia, Germany, Brazil, the Holy Land in Israel and to the Passion Play in Oberammergau.  She was preceded in death by: her husband, Edward Bert Jennings and her parents.

She is survived by: sons, Brian (Susan) Jennings and Steven (Rachel) Jennings; daughters, Shelly (Patrick) Robinet, Debbie (Todd) Pentecost and Denise (Michael) Martin; 11 grandchildren; brother, Herbert (Jenny) Dorn; and sisters, Guinevere Krupp, Gretchen Weaver, Rosalind (Tom) Proos and Miriam (Eugene) Reddel.

In accordance with her wishes her memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 5740 W.
