Frank J. Lilly

Deacon Frank J. Lilly, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, was born May 6, 1924 in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Mary and James Lilly.

He accepted Christ at an early age, at which he later became a deacon at Solid Rock Baptist Church, serving under the pastorship of the Rev. James Carter. Frank retired from General Motors after 30 years.

Deacon Lilly went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and James Lilly, brother James Lilly, daughter Luquincy Lucas, and sister Mary Lilly.

Frank leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Mattie Lilly; two daughters, Luranin Lilly and Michelle (Randy) Stewart, both of Lansing; five sons, Frank Lilly Jr. of Tennessee, Freeman Lucas, Kenny Lilly, Kendrick (Katrina) Lilly and Frank C. Lilly, all of Lansing; twenty-one grandkids including special granddaughter Shawntel Lilly; seventeen great-grandkids; two brothers, John Henery of Texas and Freddie Lilly of Mississippi; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 2410 S. Pennsylvania, Lansing. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Family hour will be from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
