Betty S. Baryames

Betty S. Baryames, age 85, of Lansing, passed away from natural causes on November 21, 2011 surrounded by her family. Born in Kalamazoo, MI on April 26, 1926 to Paul and Christina Skoubes.  Betty lived most of her life in Lansing, MI with her loving husband Chris of 57 years, who preceded her in death in 2010. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother devoted to her family, instilling good values through example.  Her Greek heritage was very important to her and she enjoyed sharing the traditions with family and friends.  She loved to cook, play golf and had traveled the world extensively with her husband Chris. 

Betty is survived by her sister Ethel Scott of Kalamazoo, MI, children; Christie Baryames of Longmont, CO, Chris A. “Sparty” Baryames, Jr. (Sherie) of Grand Ledge, MI, Paul Baryames (Jane) of Boulder, CO, Linda Southern (Jeff) of Redondo Beach, CA, and two grandchildren, Christopher and Nicholas Baryames of Grand Ledge, MI.

As per Betty’s wishes there will be no funeral.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1701 E. Saginaw Street, Lansing, MI 48912.
