Lora Lee Dole

Lora Lee, of East Lansing, died August 17, 2011 at the age of 89 with her family by her side at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. She was born in Angola, Indiana on June 5, 1922, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Perdue) Kepler.

Lora Lee was preceded in death by her husband Kimsey C. Dole, D.D.S., her parents Walter and Ruth, her brother Darwin Kepler, and her sister Betty Lou Gerughty.

She lived the majority of her life in Danville, Illinois where she raised her family, and later moved to East Lansing. While in Danville she was involved in several civic organizations and community activities. She was a garden club member and avid gardener throughout her life.

She is survived by her daughters Tamra (Steven) Glenn and Jill (Thomas) Hamilton. Also surviving are her brother Carl Kepler, nieces and nephews Barbara Lantz, Walt Kepler, Diane Azelborn, George Kepler, Dick Kepler, Bill Kepler, and Cindy Cummings, and three international exchange student daughters Elizabeth Jose Camacho, Phuoc Tran Vo, and Farah Nicholson.

There will be no visitation. Private services for the family have been arranged by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, P.O. Box 30480, Lansing, MI 48909.
