William K. "Bill" Beehler, Jr.

Age 88, of Vestaburg, MI, passed away, Saturday, July 16, 2011 in Lansing.  He was born April 10, 1923 in Youngstown, Ohio to William K., Sr. and Sarah Beehler.

Bill was a proud Veteran of the United States Coast Guard, serving in all major theaters of battle.  He then went on to work for Hercules Motors, moving to Michigan in the early 1960’s to work for Phillips Manufacturing as plant superintendent, he then worked for Parker Hannifin and retired in 1982.  After retirement he and his wife Bette moved to Vestaburg.  In retirement he and Bette enjoyed travel, fishing, and camping.  Bill also enjoyed keeping up with computers and technology.

He is survived by his children: William “Skip” (Linda) Beehler of Mason, Diane Beehler of Eaton Rapids, and Steven (Diana) Beehler of Manton, MI.  He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 61 years Bette Beehler, and his brother Russell “Eddie” Beehler.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel with Pastor Mark Eckert of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Inurnment will follow in East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos, MI. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

We are sorry to hear of Bills passing,he and Bette were our wonderful friends on Bass Lake and we had many good times with them.He will be missed most of all for his joyful and happy laugh . May he rest in peace ,now that he is with his beloved Bette.
