Virginia R. Bennetts

Age 94 passed away, November 4, 2016, in Lansing. She was born April 21, 1922, in Maybee, Michigan, to the late Carl and Sylvia (Herkimer) Rath.

Virginia was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, Monroe, Michigan, and later attended Eastern Michigan University, graduating with a degree in teaching. She was lifelong member of the Country Club of Lansing. She was a championship Bridge player, had a love for golf, tennis, and spending time for many years at their cottage on Mackinac Island.

Virginia is survived by: children, Stephanie Kemp of Palm Beach, FL, William “Bill” (Debra) Bennetts of Canton, GA, and Christopher Bennetts of Germany; grandchildren, Joshua Bennetts, Zachary (Dawn) Bennetts, Todd Bennetts, Kord Kutchins, Tracy Kemp Hedstrom (Tim), Stephanie Kemp Bluming (Adam), Virginia Kemp Biondi (Dr. Michael); and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Frederic “Fritz” Bennetts; and a son-in-law, Robert Kemp.

There will be no services. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
